No I mean

If he's fucked up, I know myself and I'll try to help him beyond my limits. To my own detriment.

If I know someone else is his safety net, I won't risk going past my limit. If I need help too that's a different question, what I'm trying to prevent is me going "I'm at my limit, but I have to keep going anyway because it's Kakyoin".

When it's something like this, I can't even start working on taking care of myself if he's not taken care of first. And it might turn out that I'm okay on my own, if I'm not destroying myself trying to hold up both of us.
