As I'm sure you've already noticed, Passione has experienced a few losses recently. I would appreciate it if you kept an eye on Giorno.

He's doing the right thing looking after Narancia, Izabel, and Fugo, but being without Mista especially is going to be a difficult transition for him.

Yeah. I had a feeling he wouldn't take it very well. I'll do my best to watch out for him.

[Which is such an inadequate thing to say in the face of what Jotaro is agreeing to do for Bruno, but it's also not something Bruno would allow to go by without saying anything. So even if it's inadequate in expressing the full extent of Bruno's gratitude, it's far better than nothing. As for Jotaro's question... Well, he's alright with falling short of explaining any of that.]

[Bullshit, he thinks about writing for all of about two seconds, because Mista's not the only one who's disappeared and there was at least one obvious name missing from the list of people Giorno's been doing his best to look after, but he remembers Giorno's recent confession of frustration at how Bruno does this, how Bruno needs a Bruno Buccellati of his own to push him just far enough and then trust him to do the rest, and none of them are equipped to do any of that, are they.]

...I'm not enough of an asshole to fight you on that. So all I'm going to say is this.

You helped hold me up when I was at my worst. You're one of the reasons I can even stand on my own two feet to start returning the favor or paying it forward. That's not something I'll forget easily. Okay?

[Bruno's response isn't immediate. It may even appear as though no response whatsoever is coming the lapse between Jotaro's response and Bruno's carries on for so long. It's his instinct and impulse to tell Jotaro that paying it back isn't necessary. Because it isn't. And they both know that. But it's not a matter of whether or not it's necessary. It's something that Jotaro wants to do. All Bruno can really think is that he's fortunate to know so many good people like this and it's that thought alone that manages to keep him from rejecting the implied offer. Because doing that would be too great an insult.]

[Because it won't help anyone. It won't make Bruno any more inclined to talk about what's really happening underneath the surface and it won't help him stay focused enough to support the others, the latter of which being something he really needs right now.]

[Jesus, that was a difficult pause to have to sit through. He's pleasantly surprised by the answer, though; it's not precisely a concession, but it's close enough to an acknowledgement, at the very least.]

...Listen. I don't...want to be in the middle of your business. Whether it's Passione business or just yours. And I know that when I help Giorno...I couldn't do it if he were my don. Not the way he needs it, sometimes. So it's better that I'm not in the middle.

All I'm asking is to be able to tell him, honestly, that I'm looking out for you, too. Because I think that's something he needs to hear, or will need to sooner or later.

You can decide how, and when, and on what terms; I'm fine with that. But please just let me be able to give him that much.
