anyway like i said it's not just me bruno knows a TON about boats so the uss codfather is going to be a work of art which by the way i really mean a TON he had a whole little model of what we were going to build and everything its pretty cool he's pretty cool
i mean not yet probably i will i mean we're not gonna just sit in silence while we make it i already know some shitty things to say but nothing real last time we talked about the ocean you'd be proud he knows almost as much as you
i started working on it i think last august or september? so good enough that i can have a conversation probably but there are still words i don't know and conjugations i fuck up
sometimes i forget a word so i have to say the same thing a different way, like forgetting the word for "groceries" so you say "food from the store" or whatever
but yeah i've been working on it for i guess most of a year now
[IT'S EASY, he almost says, but of course it's easy for him. The few Japanese phrases he'd stumbled his way through had been a nightmare of pronunciation, because all the sounds had been strange and wrong on his lips.]
well look at it this way if you slur your way through a sentence people will just think you're a little drunk thats practically a pastime in france
yeah jotaro for fuck's sake what kind of conversation is this
but yeah the ocean whales goblin sharks glowfish he knows a lot more then i thought he would i mean i dont know much about him in the first place so its all interesting
i mean so is france but you don't see me knowing weird ocean junk but his parents used to fish so i guess there you go
anyway what's he like i mean youve known him longer then me besides being weirdly stuck to him for a while we're still kind of getting to know each other
back when it was just four of us, i mean, kakyoin and me and then giorno and bruno
i was kind of a wreck and didn't know what i was doing with myself and bruno is...
it's like he sees what people need really easily? like before they even realize they need it themselves. but he just gets it, and then he pushes them just enough. not into doing what they need to do, but like right up to the edge, to where they can see it for themselves
and then he leaves you alone because that last step has to come from you, not anyone else
but i think that's kind of double-edged, you know? he's really good with everybody else but he's pretty hands-off when it comes to himself.
[Is it a Passione thing? That reminds him an awful lot of Giorno-- that ability to reach into someone and see what they are, never mind how to speak to them.]
well its not like we know anybody with THAT problem its weird how they can do that, he and giorno that theyre that good at seeing what you're like or what words you need
no subject
i didn't know it was that exhausting for you
[A long pause, and then:]
well if you want you can use that around me sometime
itd be interesting to experience when its not
you know
or getting my ears half tugged off
no subject
and then i think i can do three probably but
i mean i'd probably be down for the count after it so it's not really a good strategy long-term
but if like a bomb were going off and i needed fifteen seconds to carry a bunch of people to safety in stopped time i think i could probably do that
i mean and then collapse but
no subject
no subject
but you're right about being safe thanks to me
no subject
no subject
it's like you don't think i have any carpentry skills at all
no subject
[But OH RIGHT, carpentry reminds him:]
hey did i tell you
youre not the only one with a building project
bruno and i are going to build a BOAT
no subject
that's really cool actually
notice how i didn't just say OH WOW THAT SHIT'S GONNA SINK right off the bat
unlike SOME PEOPLE
1/2
what a champion friend
believing the minimal amount in me
no subject
bruno knows a TON about boats so
the uss codfather is going to be a work of art
which by the way i really mean a TON he had a whole little model of what we were going to build and everything
its pretty cool
he's pretty cool
no subject
sometimes he's way too serious for his own good but i bet hanging out with you would help him lighten up and shit
...
so are you learning italian
no subject
not yet
probably i will i mean we're not gonna just sit in silence while we make it
i already know some shitty things to say but nothing real
last time we talked about the ocean you'd be proud
he knows almost as much as you
no subject
and then "dirmi come dire" is "tell me how to say"
so the one is like a question and the other is like an instruction
that should help you look cool and get started
no subject
thanks
how fluent are you anyway? besides pickup lines and this
no subject
i started working on it i think last august or september? so good enough that i can have a conversation probably but there are still words i don't know and conjugations i fuck up
sometimes i forget a word so i have to say the same thing a different way, like forgetting the word for "groceries" so you say "food from the store" or whatever
but yeah i've been working on it for i guess most of a year now
no subject
is it easier than english?
just kidding everything is easier then english
just watch in another we'll all be able to speak not only english but french italian and japanese too
no subject
which is that i dunno it's like my mouth just doesn't want to make the sounds right?
so it's like i know i need to say the thing but no matter what i do it's not going to come out right
no subject
well look at it this way
if you slur your way through a sentence people will just think you're a little drunk
thats practically a pastime in france
no subject
so you guys talked about the ocean huh
you and bruno, i mean
you were telling me about it but then i interrupted you with language bullshit
no subject
but yeah the ocean
whales
goblin sharks
glowfish
he knows a lot
more then i thought he would
i mean i dont know much about him in the first place so its all interesting
no subject
i guess it's not that surprising though? i mean italy is surrounded by water on all sides, right, so he's probably used to stuff like that
no subject
but his parents used to fish so i guess there you go
anyway what's he like
i mean youve known him longer then me
besides being weirdly stuck to him for a while we're still kind of getting to know each other
no subject

that theyre that good at seeing what you're like or what words you need
i like him
no subject
...
i think you're
probably good at being that for them, honestly
not exactly the same but like
they're good at helping people see what they need, but you're good at being there for people who need it
