no one's teaching me, i've just been figuring it out. the book helped but a lot of it is just trial and error

Your progress has been impressive. I have been keeping track of it. Good job.

the keys is florida, right
tell me about florida

The state itself is either hot or rainy and hot. I never went anywhere without an umbrella. It's actually too touristy for me. I don't like visiting America all that much. New York is better. Since I travel to take the edge off, going elsewhere like the islands is much better.
They are known for their beaches and ecotourism. You know-- Diving, fishing, dolphin-watching. It is more tropical and less rainy. It gives more of an opportunity to be outside and enjoy the sunlight, the flowers, and watching the animals.
I miss it.

that sounds
did you know a dolphin won't let a swimmer drown
no subject
Why would I know that?
I've seen a dolphin like twice and I've never felt like trying to drown in front of it.
You are really into the ocean back at home too. It carried over.

the ocean, i mean
if you cut off a starfish's limb, it'll eventually grow that limb back, but if you cut off its limb and catch some of its center ring in the division, it'll grow back into two separate starfish
why don't humans do that? we're more advanced organisms than starfish. why can't we figure out how they do it and use that to grow new limbs for people who lose theirs?
there are turtles that live for thousands of years because they don't age. if aging is caused by the deterioration of cells and slight corruptions in dna that cause them to grow back imperfect later, then in these turtles, their cells don't deteriorate and their dna never corrupts. they die from injuries and predators, but not of old age. they don't die
why haven't people figured out how to do that?
but...it's possible
it's possible because it already exists, it's out there in the ocean and we just barely know it. we've mapped the continents and spread civilization over the land and learned the terrain but the ocean is still a mystery and we just, we don't know what's down there and
i think it's interesting, i guess
i guess future me does too

We technically know more about the moon than we do the ocean. You know, there are millions of plants in the rainforests that could cure diseases but we don't go out and use them.
We don't know what's in those either. I've seen the rainforest. They're just as mysterious as your oceans.
Future you is literally a scientist-- or is working on it --so I would suffice it to say that, yes, future you thinks it's interesting.

You mentioned you went to Cairo?

we got held up when i had to fight a guy but
i guess what's weird is that they're both so vast and so...lonely
but the desert is just empty
the ocean is full, and there's nothing in a desert that can compare to the feeling of warm saltwater holding you up

It is part of why people never go sailing. Part of why they don't swim. There is nothing there, and yet underneath them, it is teaming with more creatures than anyone could ever grasp in both hands.
They are afraid of both what is and is not in it.
It's almost a paradox.
no subject
you sound like you're starting to like it
the ocean, i mean
no subject
The things that make no sense or have a way about them that is not easily identifiable.
I do like it.
The ocean.
It makes me wish I visited more often or went sailing.
no subject
like it'd be interesting, i mean
i like reading about boats too

Imagine how nice it would be if I wasn't 500% positive we would be eaten, Jotaro.
no subject
so i'm invited too, huh
to go sailing with you
no subject
I wouldn't want to go alone. That's far too dangerous.
So if there was anyone I would want to pick, it would be you.
no subject
and you know i'd keep you safe
?
no subject
I wouldn't take someone with me who I didn't, you know, actually like.
no subject
speaking of people you do or don't actually, you know, like
no subject
Do we?
