So I think...if it ever had a personality, it got snuffed out under Dio's control. He wouldn't have wanted The World to be separate from him. He would've wanted it to be his weapon, maybe that's why it was...dead.
I think it's different for people who were born with their Stand, too. I think they're more likely to see it as just an extension of themselves, because they've never known anything different. But I remember a time without Star, so that makes him a little less "me". Because I was already "me" before him.
...I've never seen someone else's Stand protect them the way that Star protects me. That kind of independent action. So...yeah. It feels different. If that's what you meant.
